We have Giles’s Great Auntie Pearl to thank for introducing the Woodhouse family to the beautiful island of Alderney. As a child Giles remembers her house (Mother Fridays) as unfailingly warm, cosy and friendly, just like the islanders; that feeling of home that the island gives us is as heart-warming today as it was years ago.
